Week of Walks

A successful Week of Walks took place this year during the week beginning the 21st September. Members enjoyed walks at Aberdeen City, Dunecht, Dufftown and Drummuir, and Dinnet.The weather was on the whole kind although there were some showers on some of the days. Thanks must go to the leaders who came from local groups in the area.

Ramblers’ Rendezvous


A very successful and enjoyable Rendezvous was held at Banff Academy on the 5th and 6th of August. The range of Activities on offer, were very varied, many incorporating the beautiful coastal scenery and rich cultural heritage of the area. 

Sincere thanks must go to the Network Committee for all their hard work and to the helpers from the Banff 50+ and Fraserburgh 50+ Groups who created such a friendly atmosphere for all participants.

Spring Fling.


A very successful Spring Fling and A.G.M. was held at Mintlaw on Tuesday14th April with 160 members in attendance. Members enjoyed a wide variety of activities both indoors and out. A feature of this year’s Meeting was the increase in the outdoor activities on offer with several walks or visits to local places of interest giving members an opportunity to get to know the area.

Before giving her annual report, Marjory D’Arcy thanked 3 members of the Committee, Gladys Wallace, Margaret Cordiner and Brian Rhodes who were standing down.

 Jennifer Leys took over from Marjory to deal with nominations for new Committee members and 4 new members were elected. 

They are Sheila Erridge and Brian Torrance from Fraserburgh 50+,Yvonne Fraser from Garioch Wednesday and Catherine Mason from Bridge of Don 50+.
