Spring Fling at
Westhill 2014
A very successful Spring Fling, incorporating the A.G.M. was held at Westhill Academy on Thursday 10th April. The Committee and helpers excelled themselves with the range of activities on offer.
For those who like to get out and about, there was a visit to the Men's Shed recently set up in Westhill; a local walk with the Ranger around the green areas in Westhill or a Historical walk led by Jim Fiddes, author of Brodiach to Bervie.
Indoors the fit and active could opt for Kurling - an adaptation of Curling on ice; an Exercise class using friskis and svettis or a session of lively Ceilidh dancing.
The ever popular Crafts on offer were Crochet, Beading, Patchwork for Beginners, Origami and Cardmaking - and all participants had lovely articles to show off at the end.
Singing with the City Roses choir made a welcome return as well as Memories and Reminiscences. Members could also choose to be taught how to use a Tablet or be shown how to get to grips with the basics of Map-reading, while Enjoy your Dog - with real dogs must be one of the most unusual activities the Network has offered.
The constant buzzing atmosphere in the Hall was a sure sign that everyone was enjoying the day and all overheard comments seemed to check that out.
